Required Profile
- Preferred educational background in Coding / Insurance
- Should be able to join immediately
- Should have a minimum of 4 years’ experience relevant to the position
- To act as a connection between the facility and payment parties to examine the claim, verify its information, and update the database when the third-party payers reject a claim
- Accountable for the proper flow of medical knowledge and patient data between physicians, patients and third-party payers using accurate numeric code to define diagnostics, treatments, and procedures and to enter this information into the facility’s database using medical coding protocol to produce a statement or claim
- Collect and review patient charts and documents for accuracy
- Ensure proper coding on provider documentation
- Ensure that all codes are current and active
- Serves as a resource regarding insurance resolutions and coding questions
- Review patient medical records
- Follows coding guidelines and legal requirements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Coding treatment information using Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes
- Executes additional duties as assigned by HOD
Skills Required
- BS(Hons) in any stream
- Fluency in English (speak, read and write)
- Medical Coding Certificate; RHIT or CPC by AAPC or AHIMA Certificate
- Arabic speaking skills will be an added benefit
- Ability to work individually or as an active member of a team
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong computer skills in data entry, coding, and knowledge of EMR & Microsoft Office
- Should be flexible and adaptable
- Should be punctual, disciplined and a team-player
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
